PANGOLIN QM2000 LASER SHOW SYSTEM
Laser show Designer 2000 is the state-of-the-art system specially designed for laser show production and presentation industry.
The LD2000 system is powered by the QM2000 PCI board and you must have the board installed in a PC in order to operate the software.
The QM2000 board fits into a PCI slot inside your computer; or a notebook docking station such as a Magma PC expansion kit can also be used. Each QM2000 controls one projector head (an XY set of scanners, color control, and DMX outputs) or a laser projector. To control more heads in the same show but doing different animations you require additional QM2000 boards for each scanner set/animation. With one QM2000 you can split the output to two separate scan heads / laser projectors but each image will be the same. Splitters can also be used to flip the image on the horizontal and vertical planes allowing the two duplicate images to be mirrored instead of both looking the same.
There are three levels of the LD2000 systsem available:
LD2000 Intro
You can create frames and shows with Intro; however, the frames will be flat (2D), the Abstract Generator has only one oscillator. When making a show, you can only work with 3 tracks, and there are fewer effects such as morphing. Intro is capable of high-quality shows.
LD2000 Basic
Basic has most of the power of the LD2000 Pro version, but you can only create 2D frames, not 3D ones. You can make flat, 2D drawings but not 3D objects. The abstract generator has two oscillators instead of Pro's three. When making a show, there are 16 tracks available.
LD2000 Professional
Pro is laser show software for those doing laser shows full-time. It includes all features, including the ability to create 3D objects. When making a show, you can have up to 32 objects (tracks) simultaneously. An LD2000 Pro system can create a show for a total of 20 projectors, in the same computer or over an Ethernet network.
UPGRADES
If you already own a Pangolin and wish to upgrade to a higher spec LD2000 version, you can upgrade for the cost difference:
- For LD2000 Intro owners: you can upgrade to LD2000 Basic or Pro for the cost difference between Intro and the other program.
- For LD2000 Basic owners: you can upgrade to LD2000 Pro for the cost difference between LD2000 Basic and LD2000 Pro.

If you have two Qm2000 board fitted, one being an intro, the other professional: Both boards will have the professional features.
DMX OUT
All version of the QM2000 have the ability to control / synchronized secondary DMX devices, the signal is delivered by a 15 pin d-type connector. A converter is supplied with the QM2000 board that takes the 15pin D-type to 3pin XLR. DMX frames can be created and synchronized into your show.
QM2000 Board installation
Installation is simple and takes just a few minutes, power off your PC, remove the power supply cable. Remove the Cover from your PC. Find an empty PCI slot and ensure no bits / debris is inside the slot, using an air blower to remove any dust will help. We use earth straps to ensure no static can damage the internal components of the PC or the QM2000. Remove the QM2000 from its anti-static packet and carefully insert into the PC, fixing it with the retaining screw. Don’t leave it loose! Use a fixing screw.
Once you have installed the QM2000 Board, re-fit your PC cover, power on your PC then install the software supplied on CD. It’s as simple as that. When you start the Pangolin software it will detect ant QM2000 boards that are installed. These instructions are in far greater detail with the QM2000 package.
QM2000 board / showtime and show designer
The package contains one QM2000 PCI board, a DMX converter cable , two main programs (showtime 2000 and show designer 2000) show designer is where you create animations, text effects, frames of shows etc.. Showtime brings those frames together onto a timeline allowing the frames and animations to be synchronized to music. Also supplied with the package is a tutorial DVD that will get you stated and it even contains a video detailing how to install the PCI card correctly. Many tutorial examples are also contained on the software CD, thousands of ready made frames, corporate logos and even complete shows are there for your use.
